When You Want It Done the Right Way, Take Your Car to Thru-Way!
Windshield can provide up to 50% of the structural intergrity of a modern vehicle.
At Thru-Way Autoglass, we use a urethane windshield adhesive with a PSI range of 600 to 1200. To cure and set properly, urethane requires 24 to 48 hours of heat and moisture – even at 70° and 50% relative humidity. As temperatures drop, cure time increases.
For instance, at 0°, it can take 30 to 60 days for urethane to cure. During that time, it’s not safe to drive the vehicle, especially if it has a passenger-side airbag.
It’s vital that the glass and metal surfaces are well-primed and completely dry. The presence of any moisture means the urethane won’t stick, thus endangering passengers. Rely on an expert job in our facility’s controlled environment, where rain, snow, and sleet aren’t an issue.
Thru-Way uses one-hour, fast-cure urethane for windshield integrity and does the job only in our well-appointed shop. This ensures an installation that meets federal and manufacturer’s standards for windshield retention and roof crush.
As an integral part of your automobile’s design, the windshield prevents roof crushing in the event of a rollover. This keeps all occupants inside the car – where you fare a greater chance of survival – and serves as a backboard in case of passenger-side airbag deployment.
